As this year comes to a close, and everyone is reflecting on the past twelve months, I decided to share some nuggets of wisdom I gained in 2022.

You won’t find anything crazy or ground-breaking on this list. What you will find are 12 simple ideas, lessons, observations — whatever you want to call them — that helped me clear mental clutter and added value to my life.

Here they are:

#1. Don’t be afraid to be the dumbest person in the room.

Being the dumbest person in a room is often the smartest thing you can do.

It’s easy to fall into the ego trap and avoid finding yourself among a company of people far more successful, clever, and knowledgeable than you.

But that’s the only way growth can take place. By learning things from people smarter than you, “stealing” ideas from people more creative than you, and interacting with people who challenge your mindset on a continual basis.

#2. Don’t be afraid to be the quietest person in the room.
